Bert&Bertie are a multi award winning female co-directing/screenwriting duo with a penchant for moustaches and fedora hats. 

Bert's background is in commercials and documentary content until jumping into the abyss of independent filmmaking. She won a BAFTA for short film 'Antonio's Breakfast' in 2006. 

Bertie comes from the world of dance and theatre until Sony Interactive kidnapped her in 2000 to narrative produce and write the Getaway I & II for which the team was nominated for a video game BAFTA. She also worked with Ilion Animation Studios on their follow up feature to Planet 51. The Berties worlds collided on a Sony shoot in 2005.

Bert&Bertie's co-directorial debut, a fantastical dark comedy, ‘Phobias’ in 2006.  That was followed swiftly by their second short film ‘The Taxidermist’, completed March 2009. It premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival where it won Best Short Film (over 15mins). It has since continued to win awards at major festivals. They completed their third short 'Worm' starring Tom Basden in 2011. 

In the features world the Berties are in pre-production on their first feature, London set dystopian sci-fi thriller, LUCIDITY, with UK based production company ICU films.  Their second feature is an unannounced CG animated project with LA based producer Dan Dubiecki ('Up in the Air'). Their third project 'Guitar Man', based on the book by Will Hodgkinson, is helmed by producers Matt Wilkinson and Emily Leo of M&EM Films. 

They are both writing their own features 'Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker' (Bertie) and ‘The Land of Forever Night’ (Bert).
