Jimi is a freelance writer, editor and occasional podcaster. He has written for The Evening Standard, The Guardian, Empire, Wired, ShortList, Grazia and Time Out, covering subjects as varied as diversity in blockbuster films, Swedish stay-at-home fathers, the cultural significance of London’s black barbershops and the bitter battle to dominate the holographic concert industry. He has interviewed celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Liam Gallagher, Nigella Lawson and John Boyega.
In 2017, his story, Teddybird, made the shortlist of the Guardian and 4th Estate’s BAME Short Story Prize. He lives in south-east London with his wife, their two sons and an uncommonly needy cat called Tango. He is currently writing his first novel.
