Bethany Downer

Bethany Downer is a 24 year-old award-winning space science and space technology communicator. Born and raised on the island of Newfoundland, Canada, Bethany has since established a name for herself in the areas of education and communications for the space industry. She holds an MSc in Space Studies from the International Space University and a BSc in Geography from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her work experience includes the European Space Agency, the Mars Generation and the Space Generation Advisory Council for the United Nations Program for Space Applications. She has recently founded her own space communications platform, Reaching Space Science. Bethany has been on the Canada’s list of Top 30 Under 30 in 2016 and 2017, and one of the world’s Top 24 Under 24 in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and Space in 2017. She lives in The Netherlands.
