Mo is a writer from Yorkshire, focussed on representing the little known and surprising intersections that make-up modern Britain. Mo’s work spans the drama, satire and thriller genres and draws heavily from his multicultural experiences and his time growing up in a mainly white-working class city. In 2019, Mo won a script commission from Channel 4’s comedy department. In 2021, Mo won a script competition to work with the producers of Gods Own Country to write a feature film. In 2022, Mo was selected for C4’s Commissioning Mentor Network, where he has been paired with a drama commissioner for mentoring. He was also involved in Screen Yorkshire’s Flex programme to generate a new slate of Yorkshire based stories for SY to pitch to broadcasters eager for more Yorkshire based shows. Mo is also in development with multiple production companies for upcoming projects.
