Katarzyna Bonda is the most popular crime writer in Poland.

She wrote a criminal trilogy featuring Hubert Meyer, a criminal profiler (The Case of Nina Frank, Only the Dead Don’t Lie, The Florist), true crime Polish Murderesses and An Imperfect Crime as well as a creative writing manual The Type Writer. Her most popular series and a huge commercial success (over 2 million copies sold) is The Elements of Sasza Zaluska: Girl at Midnight, the White Mercedes, Lanterns and The Red Spider. Girl at Midnight received the Readers' Award at the 2015 International Crime Festival in Wroclaw, while The White Mercedes won the 2015 Empik Bestseller Award. Foreign rights to the books have been sold in 9 languages, to the largest publishers in the world, including Hachette and Penguin Random House.
